Thousand Pines has a health center located on its premises. During AOE it is staffed daily by a licensed nurse who has the ability to oversee student healthcare and administer medications, pending parental permission and doctor’s authorization. Emergency medical staff is also on-call 24 hours a day.
Additionally, AOE is 5 minutes from EMS (Emergency Medical Services), 10 minutes from the sheriff’s station, and 25 minutes from two different hospitals.
